Be Like Children


All the texts and illustrations in this book have been produced by children aging 5-
12 exept for this very text by which we, the adults, wanted to point out that we also
have, at least a little bit, made a contribution to this lovely project.

The idea for the project came from the well known book "Pen Writes with Heart"
("Olovka piše srcem") which proved itself to be a bestseller among children's
literature. For three decades of existing, it made us smile,but in the same time,
admire the authors.

When we were just beginning with this project, we were wondering how much have
children changed for the previous three decades and what kind of answers are we
going to get from the children of the 21st century. Neither excitement, nor smile on
our faces were missing which you are to be insured. The beauty of the texts in
this book gives us a certain freedom not to talk about it, because when we, the
adults, try to give answers to all the "difficult" questions which we asked the
children, they end up being too serious.

We would like to thank children of the "Branko Pešić" elementary school in Zemun
and children of the "Vojvoda Putnik" school in Ripanj which were the actual
authors,as well as the kind stuff of these schools and all the "adults" which helped
the realization of this project: Biljana Blažić, Dragana Ranković, Mirjana Vukasović
who gathered the material and Suzana Stanković who designed the book with all
the necessary help of the children and prepared it for the press.

A fact that will give this book a certain additional value is that all the funds collected
by selling it will be invested in education of the first peripathologists in Serbia and
Montenegro who are to teach the blind and vision impaired how to walk
independently with help of the stick.
