Mission

ADRA is one of the numerous humanitarian organizations and people of good will,
which make an effort on daily basis to give help and support during recovery and
development to those in need. However, it is important to point out that, first of all,
there is the reverse of the medal in fight against poverty.

According to the latest statistical reports there are 60% of people on earth who live
with less than 1 dollar a day which is considered to be the limit of poverty even if
the newest assessments say that the limit should be 2 dollars a day. It is
discouraging that a great majority of the mentioned category lives with funds that
are far less even from 1 dollar a day.

However, what is the most discouraging are the following facts. If all Europeans
gave up ice-cream and redirected the funds to the needs of the poor, Europe
would have not one hungry inhabitant. If all countries in the world reduced the
military budget for only 5 %, the problem of hunger would be solved the world
over. Also, if every arable land was used for growing some cereals instead of
tobacco and plants of which narcotics are made, the problem of hunger would be
resolved. All things considered, there are too many discouraging facts and all of
them lead to one conclusion - our civilization has no problem with the lack of
resources but with their redistribution.

The governments of the Western countries fight against overburdened healty-
social system whose greatest enemy and cause of most illnesses is obesity. It is
thought that 60% of the Western World population suffers from too much weight.
On the other hand, the governments of the Third World countries fight to provide
their inhabitants with regular meals from day to day. Even a glance at media
makes us conclude that the greatest need of the human kind is tobacco and
alcochol. Is this true - evaluate yourself. If these facts have stimulated us to think
about how this problem can be solved, than the right decision is to begin from
